Un Cuarto de Siglo / Turning 25

Y llego el día que veía tan lejos, el día de tener 25 años, la edad del punto de equilibrio, donde ya deberías saber muchas cosas y haber hecho otras cuantas; y pensar que fue solo ayer cuando estaba celebrando mis 15 años rodeada de mi familia y amigos.

El pensar en la proximidad de esta fecha me generaba un poco de ansiedad, de darme cuenta que hay muchas cosas que pensé, estaría haciendo a mis 25; pero al hacer el balance, encontré que este cuarto de siglo ha estado lleno de cosas tan buenas que solo se puede pensar en celebrar, como las metas que he alcanzado, los sueños que he cumplido y sobre todo, las personas que han cruzado mi camino; esas que pasaron rápidamente a ensañarme grandes lecciones de vida y las que aun se encuentran acompañándome (en mente y espíritu) y hacen que mi vida este llena de felicidad, por que hoy mas que nunca me siento agradecida de compartir estos momentos felices y los no tan felices a lado de quienes mas amo y quienes espero se queden en mi vida por mucho tiempo más.

Estas fotos las tomamos en el SKY ROOFTOP en Ibagué, que sobra mencionar tiene la mejor vista, la de mi hermosa ciudad.

And the day that looked so far, came, the day I was turning 25, the age of breakeven,where you should know many things and done a few more; and thinking that it feels like yesterday when I was celebriting my 15th birthday surrounded by familiy and friends.

The thought of the proximity of this date gave me anxiety, I realized that there are many things that I thought I´ll be doing by 25, but when I start stocktaking I found that this quarter century has been full of such good things that I can only think about celebrating, as the goals I´ve achieved, the dreams that became true and especially the people who have crossed my path; those who just pass by to teach me life lessons and the ones who still accompanying me (in mind and spirit) and make my life is full of happiness, for that reason today more than ever I am greatful to share these happy moments and no so happy with the ones I love the most and hope stay in my life as long as possible.

Durante mi visita a Nueva York quise visitar los museos que no conocía, cuando fui al MET (metropolitan Museum) quede abrumada por la cantidad de salas y exhibiciones que habían, así que decidí enfocarme en lo que realmente me inspira y me interesa, he hice un pequeño mapa mental de las salas que quería visitar y tratar de recorrerlas sin perder mucho tiempo entre una y otra; Las primeras salas que visite eran sobre arte moderno, luego pase a unas en donde se recrearon unas habitaciones con estilo rococó francés que me dejaron sin palabras; al estudiar diseño de modas se nos enseña sobre la historia del traje y los diferentes movimientos artísticos de cada época pero verlo, es otra cosa, mis ojos no podían creer la cantidad de detalle que habían en esas habitaciones.

Pero la gran estrella del museo era la exhibición sobre China y como la cultura oriental ha impactado en occidente, específicamente en la moda; Es increíble ver el desarrollo de los atuendos inspirados en el arte y la cultura china, los bordados y el gran detalle de los estampados en las telas; los trajes de alta costura realizados por las casas de moda más importantes me dejaron impactada y con una satisfacción que no se pueden imaginar, tal vez es porque desde muy pequeña me apasiona todo lo que tiene que ver con la moda, pero vivir estas experiencias me llenan de alegría y por eso quería compartirla con ustedes.

During my visit to New York I wanted to visit the museums I didn´t know, when I went to the MET ( Metropolitan Museum ) I was overwhelmed by the amount of rooms and exhibits that it had, so I decided to focus on what really inspires me and interests me, I did a small mental map of the rooms that I wanted  to visit and try to cross them without wasting much time between them ;The first exhibits I went were on modern art, then I visited some rooms that we recreated with French rococo style that left me speechless; to study fashion design we are taught about the history of costume and different artistic movements of the times but see it it is another thing, my eyes could not believe the amount of detail that were in these rooms.

But the star of the museum was the exhibit about how China and Eastern culture has impacted the West, specifically in fashion ; It is amazing to see the development of outfits inspired by Chinese art and culture , embroidery and highly detailed prints in fabrics and couture costumes made ​​by top fashion houses, left me shocked and with a satisfaction that you cannot imagine, Maybe it is because since I was a kid I was very passionate about everything that has to do with fashion , but living these experiences fill me with joy and I wanted to share them with you.
