China Through the Looking Glass
at the Metropolitan Museum

During my visit to New York I wanted to visit the museums I didn´t know, when I went to the MET ( Metropolitan Museum ) I was overwhelmed by the amount of rooms and exhibits that it had, so I decided to focus on what really inspires me and interests me, I did a small mental map of the rooms that I wanted to visit and try to cross them without wasting much time between them ;The first exhibits I went were on modern art, then I visited some rooms that we recreated with French rococo style that left me speechless; to study fashion design we are taught about the history of costume and different artistic movements of the times but see it it is another thing, my eyes could not believe the amount of detail that were in these rooms.

But the star of the museum was the exhibit about how China and Eastern culture has impacted the West, specifically in fashion ; It is amazing to see the development of outfits inspired by Chinese art and culture , embroidery and highly detailed prints in fabrics and couture costumes made by top fashion houses, left me shocked and with a satisfaction that you cannot imagine, Maybe it is because since I was a kid I was very passionate about everything that has to do with fashion , but living these experiences fill me with joy and I wanted to share them with you.
